To perform a URL redirection from your Control Panel, you need to have either a domain name or a web hosting account with cdmon, or both.
There are three possible ways to create the URL redirection: through the "Domain Management", through the "Hosting Management" or through the "DNS Records" panel. We will explain each of them below.
When accessing the "Control Panel" you will be in the "List of services" screen (pink booth). From this screen you can go directly to "Manage domain", "Manage hosting" or "DNS records".
1.- Manage domain
Accessing from the option "Manage domain" you will see the following screen, where you have to click on the option URL forwarding.
2.- Manage hosting
If you have accessed through "Manage hosting" you will see this other screen, where you will have to go to the "Domains" section and click on the first option, URL forwarding.
3.- Manage DNS
Accessing from the DNS management you will enter the following screen, where you must click on the More options option and then on Create URL forwarding.
If you have accessed the redirection section from the domain or hosting it will take you to the following screen, where you can configure the redirection by clicking on Add URL forwarding.
Once you have clicked on the "Add URL forwarding" option, you will access the following screen to configure the web redirection.
But if you have accessed from the "DNS" section and clicked on the "Create URL forwarding" option, you will access the following screen where you will be able to configure the web redirection.
Temporary and permanent forwarding (301 or 302): The type of redirection (301 or 302) indicates whether it is temporary or permanent. If you want to indicate to search engines or other visitors to the page that a redirect is temporary we use 302 and if you want to set the redirect permanently we use 301.
The fundamental difference is captured by search engines like Google, which with the 302 redirect will understand that it is only a change in the URL temporarily and with the 301 redirect you are telling them to update the path of the page in their databases permanently.
Hidden frame forwarding: A transparent redirection, or frame redirection, is a type of domain redirection which allows the loading of the page to which you want to redirect, while maintaining the same address in the browser bar (URL).
You already have the web redirection by URL configured. Now, you only have to wait for the changes to propagate, an action that can take about five minutes.
